Create a type specimen for screen- due 15th October on the size of an iPad screen.

Pick a font and make a type specimen around it. Have three rough designs for the chosen font for week 4.

How I chose my typeface

After doing extensive research on each of the above typefaces (seen here) I decided to use Palatino as the subject of my type screen. I chose Palatino mainly due to its inclusion of the rarely used character- the interrobang. This character became the main focus of many of my early type screen drafts: as seen here:

Developing my Ideas

After drawing up my initial sketches, I took them to Figma to try and visualise what I would want them to look like on-screen. I decided that I would only develop designs 1,2 and 3 digitally as I felt the other two designs were starting to stray too far from the main point of the task- creating a typescreen.
